Grace –Trinity! Building for the Next Generation

Friends,

As we enter into our 10th year, we look back to our humble beginnings. Grace-Trinity United Church of Christ began its life in July 1996 when a small group of individuals decided to meet and establish a church. Eleven members then, covered all of two pews. Today it is a vibrant congregation with around 160 members, ably led by Rev. Dr. Chandra Soans and Rev.Kamalesh Stephen. Grace-Trinity is a fertile ground where strong friendships have been built, and the church has become a close-knit family and a ‘home away from home” for the many who worship here.

Throughout the bible, Sanctuary, the place of worship has always been revered and given a place of importance. In 1 Chronicles 17:1, King David felt deeply disturbed that while he lived in a beautiful palace, the symbol of the Lord's presence, the Ark of the Covenant lived in a tent. When we look at ourselves today, we find that we too have experienced God's abundant faithfulness and provision in our lives. God has blessed us with beautiful homes, which we love to preserve well. How does our church compare to the beauty and comfort of our homes? Our love for the Lord is reflected in our concern and responsibility for his house, so that this building that was a gift can be passed on well preserved to our children's generation and be a blessing to them as it is to us!

Over the years, not only have we grown in numbers but also in our vision and goals. As we enter into our 10th year, we are rethinking our vision and how we can better minister to the congregation and to the local community. We are excited to begin this second decade in the life of our church and it is time for us to take a look at the physical structure of our buildings and the increased needs of our growing church and its ministries. The pastors, board of trustees and congregation members have identified the needs of the church as follows (details in following pages):

  1. Renovate the Sanctuary

  2. Increase capacity of the day care by adding more rooms.

  3. Move the After School program from the basement to a  well-lit spacious area.

  4. Renovate the fellowship hall

  5. Create dedicated space for our Sunday School children

We have therefore embarked on a capital campaign process to raise funds that will help us with this major project. We hope as you read this that you will consider contributing generously to help us achieve our goals for renovation. We need each member of our congregation as well as friends and well wishers to support us through prayer and financial giving. We have a God who owns the cattle on a thousand hills; we have faith as a mustard seed. We believe we will see great things happening, as we trust our God to lead us on. Join hands with us to rebuild our church.
