GRACE AT WORK – REACHING UP! A SANCTUARY FOR WORSHIP

Our church, as a Sanctuary for worship, for fellowship and for outreach is a part of our hearts. One of the significant uses of our Sanctuary is for spiritual nourishment and fellowship with our brothers and sisters in Christ. So many of us have been blessed, over the past ten years, by the support and care provided by our church. Grace-Trinity has been gifted with a space which many young churches only dream of. So far, minor cosmetic and structural upgrades have been made. We believe the time has come for a “complete makeover” The following are some proposed changes to the sanctuary:

  • Install new high efficiency windows which will conserve energy, lower utility costs

  • Renovate the altar to include a communion kneeler

  • Paint and re-carpet the sanctuary and stairwell.

  • Add new light fixtures that will enhance the ambience in the sanctuary

  • Replace the audio system with for better sound quality

  • Install a central air-conditioning system.

  • New wiring.

Enclose the right wing (on entry) of the sanctuary with glass so that nursing mothers and parents with infants can participate in the service.

GRACE – REACHING WITHIN! A PLACE FOR FELLOWSHIP

One of the strengths of Grace-Trinity is the close bond among its members. This is seen in the time shared in the Fellowship Hall immediately following the service. The Fellowship Hall had been a dilapidated and unused space prior to 1996.Today, with some cosmetic changes, it is the most lively place in the church. Birthdays, wedding anniversaries, baby showers, fellowship hour after service are all celebrated here, and are one of the highlights of the church ministry.

The Fellowship hall has also been a place for the Christian education program and our children’s ministry. From our small beginnings of five children, we have now grown to several classes with about 25 children, ranging from 3 – 15 years, placed in different classes, resulting in a shortage of classroom space. It is time to provide our children and teachers with rooms dedicated for Christian Education and resources that will help them to gain their full potential.

The church also fulfills a mission close to it’s heart by hosting a Thanksgiving Dinner for the less privileged in the community, in the fellowship hall. Each year, close to a hundred people have shared this meal with us. In addition, the kitchen attached to the fellowship hall serves multi-purpose needs of  the Church, Day Care, Sunday fellowship and community events. Now, time has taken its toll, and the wear and tear over the years has begun to show, and the fellowship hall and kitchen are in need of major improvements.

The kitchen has outdated appliances, improper plumbing and broken cabinets and needs a complete makeover. The following are the changes that we plan to implement.

To provide sufficient, well lit space for our Sunday School children to be engaged in interactive Bible study and a place where their art work can be on display and remain during the week

Upgrade and provide a fully functional kitchen with new cabinets, countertops, and appliances
